		<description>Jan - thanks for your comment.  Sorry I&#039;ve taken so long in replying, it just slipped through the net.  I agree with your thoughts.  I have always believed that an external factor - be it an insect bite, an infection, a virus or stress - triggers a sequence of events that will ultimately lead to the development of cancer or an auto-immune disease.</description>

		<description>Viruses can be transmitted from insect bites.  I&#039;m wondering if some skin cancers may be triggered in some individuals by something like a mosquito bite?
Some people who have had skin cancer, including Laura Bush, have said that they at first thought the sore was an insect bite.  Perhaps it really was to begin with.</description>
