Vitamin D Deficiency Linked to Increase Breast Cancer Risk

DSC03142.jpgIf you aren’t getting enough Vitamin D you might be at increased risk for getting breast cancer.

A recent study of 1,394 breast cancer patients and an equal number of healthy post-menopausal women found that women with a very low level of vitamin D in the body have a considerably increased breast cancer risk.

Vitamin D is naturally present in very few foods (e.g., fish, egg yolks) — but it is added to some as a dietary supplement (e.g., milk, cereal, orange juice).

Just another reason to milk your diet, right? As if the bone density loss resulting from premature chemical menopause wasn’t enough to boost your intake.

Yeah, I got milk. At the very least, I make a smoothie almost every day with one cup of skim milk and whatever else I throw in there. Now you tell me …

How do you milk your diet?

For the record, I read about this particular study yesterday on futurepundit. Thanks for the tip off!

(BTW, if you love the ‘Got Milk’ ads … this link’s for you).
