Walk-in bath tubs

From the “I Didn’t Know There Was Such a Thing” files: Walk In Tubs.

When someone is injured or frail, bathing can be an ominous task. Even if someone can bathe themselves, it’s often difficult for them to step over the side of the tub without risking injury.

If you need to adapt your home for someone, this might be worth a look.

Very helpful – I saw in the nursing home where my MIL is, that they have large, walk-in showers that can accommodate chairs, etc. A very good addition to someone’s home if they are caring for an elderly family member at home.

And for those UK readers, it might be covered on the NHS. Before my mom passed away we were set to have one installed free of charge.

  3. Wayne Gerber says:

If someone is wheelchair-bound, a good option is a universal bath tub which allows the person to slide into the bath from the wheelchair.
