Warm Hands and Feet

cayenne

I don’t like cold weather.  I used not mind it so much..and I thought my dad was crazy when he said he wanted to be somewhere where it was 90 degrees 365 days a year…but now? Now I totally understand what he meant when he said that it wasn’t that he couldn’t TAKE the cold…he just didn’t like the feeling.

One thing that my new laptop has allowed me to do is to blog in my room.  It has  southern and western windows so stays sunny and warm in the afternoons…plus it is on the second floor…plus I have a fireplace in here…plus I have quilts and afghans in here and I can just yell for one of the kids to bring me coffee.

But there are lots of ways to keep your hands and feet warm in the winter without staying in bed all day…although there is something to be said for staying in bed all day… One thing you can do is to sprinkle a little cayenne pepper in your socks and gloves.

There is something about cayenne that will increase the circulation and keep your hands warm.  But there is a caution…

You absolutely must not touch your eyes or anything without washing your hands first.  And if you have to go to the bathroom?  PLEASE wash your hands before you go.  You have been warned. :)

Michael is always complaining of cold feet, but not sure if he’ll try this. Does it spice up the clothing in the laundry? hee
