Way to go Mr. “G”

This past weekend I was at a training camp for Royal Rangers leaders, as you know if you were reading last week. (I promise Kid, this is the last I will bring it up for a while.) I have mentioned in previous posts, how I feel American Christianity has taken manhood away from men in the evangelical church. It was something I had even seen in the christian school boys attending churches that our family attended in the past.
Back to the camp.
On Sunday morning before the camp graduation, the chaplain was called to give a brief word to the men. This mature man (well it’s better than calling him older) rose to the front of the seated 70-75 men and I was ecstatic.
This man of God, approached the subject that most Christian men won’t talk about openly even with their closest friends. Sex and marriage. Marye and I had previously sought counsel about the sexual issues in our marriage. Guess what! Not even pastors and their wives could give good godly counsel.
I mean, in fifteen minutes or so he went from “sex is only intended for a marriage between one man and one women” to being honest with the men and discussing Erectile Dysfunction.
He made it plain that sex isn’t a dirty subject. He told the married men that it was God’s gift to the couple intended for only them and it wasn’t just for making babies. God wants couples to enjoy sex too! What a concept! He talked about how frequently you can have sex; that sex doesn’t have to be just once or twice a month in the dark after the kids went to bed.
He also covered pornography and other areas of sin relating to sexuality. He even told them that sex doesn’t start when you go to bed, but for hours before intercourse. There is a book titled Sex Starts in the Kitchen.
You can start setting the mood earlier in the day and build up to it.
There needs to be more teaching like this for men in the God’s church.
Thank you Mr. G. for sharing with those men.
Blessings

wher can i find this book called sex starts in the kitchen
Tery,
First, thanks for reading the blog!
To answer your question, you should be able to get it at Amazon.com. It is written by Dr. Kevin Lehman. It has been in print for close to 20 years.
Thanks again!
Tery,
It may actually be titled “Sex begins in the Kitchen”.
