Today is National Wear Red Day! Let’s see what everyone has been up to. First, have a look at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women ad in this video.

Kathy at What Do I Think About?:
I needed no extra encouragement to wear red. My grandmother always said it was my color, so I am always picking red when given color choices. I am wearing my new red leggings that my daughter called “hideous”, bright red sleep socks and who knows whatever else red I can find. On the serious side of heart disease, I am off to spin with my new RED and black shoes. I have one of those “Red Dress” pins from the American Heart Association too — but not sure I will be able to find it before the day ends…..
Sarah at Mental & Emotional Health:
Tomorrow is National Wear A Red Dress day in observance of the leading cause of death among American women – heart disease. Tomorrow I will not only wear red, I will be wearing my “Red Dress” pin that I received after completing a class on heart health. I would ask, that if you own something red, even if it’s just socks, wear them tomorrow to help our nation raise awareness of women’s heart health.
I’m curious. Has anyone out there decided to get their blood pressure checked or took time to research heart disease because they saw people wearing red? Were any of the other “wear some color to support [yada yada yada]” days helpful in anyway? Did seeing a little pink ribbon on some one’s lapel remind you to do your breast self-exam or go get a mammogram? I thought that the little ribbons would at least open up dialogue and give me an opportunity to tell someone what it’s about, but no one’s ever asked me to explain.
Diane Sawyer told me to wear red today. I think it has something to do with Women and Heart Disease. Good cause as far as I’m concerned. But then, if Diane Sawyer told me to wear my underwear on the outside of my clothes, I probably would.
