Wedding Anniversary Gift Idea: Massage

To all the Husbands out there, if you still haven’t decided what to get for your loving wife on your wedding anniversary, why not get her a gift voucher for an hour-long massage. I’m sure your wife would love you more for it.

Donna & Benessere

I, for one, am getting a facial, body scrub/exfoliation and body massage next weekend. I can’t wait. It’s my husband’s anniversary gift to me. It’s a shame he’s not into massages as it’ll be nice to have a couple’s massage too. Oh well.

I like massages because it relaxes me and I like the occasional body exfoliation as well as it peels away all that dead skin. I just wonder if it’d make my skin go drier than it already is?

I did some research and I found the following benefits of a good massage:

  • alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion.
  • Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body’s natural defense system.
  • Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles.
  • Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts.
  • Improve the condition of the body’s largest organ—the skin.
  • Increase joint flexibility.
  • Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks.
  • Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation.
  • Reduce spasms and cramping.
  • Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles.
  • Release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body’s natural painkiller.
  • Relieve migraine pain.
