Wednesday Premiere: Alaska State Troopers

Travel to a more remote place where moose are hunted and just about everyone carries a firearm. Go along with Alaska State Troopers as they respond to calls via snowmobiles, boats, planes and helicopters. The terrain is unforgiving, the temperatures brutal and the troopers spread thin at only 400 for America’s largest state. Troopers may have to travel many miles in subzero temperatures to uphold the law.

Alaska State Troopers” premieres this Wednesday, October 14 at 10 pm ET/PT on the National Geographic Channel.

While the format of “Alaska State Troopers” is typical of similar real-life law enforcement shows, it’s the setting and unique challenges of Alaska that makes the new series stand apart. You’ll see snow-covered mountains and catch aerial glimpses of beautiful, rugged landscapes. The series follows “blue shirt” Alaska State Troopers who patrol towns and villages and “brown shirt” Alaska Wildlife Troopers who enforce fish and game regulations. The wildlife troopers take illegal wildlife killings very seriously.

If you tune into the premiere, you’ll see a group of troopers patrolling the Arctic Man gathering, an event that transforms the remote Hoodoo Mountain area into the state’s fourth largest city for a few days. You’ll also witness a canine partner in action on the streets of Fairbanks. Alaska Wildlife Troopers will be on the case of suspect moose killings.

Are you going to watch the premiere?
