Weight Loss Tip #1: Lose The Sugar

Every now and then I’ll share a weight loss tip with you. These are simple, but easy tips to help you on your weight loss journey.

One of the easiest ways I’ve found to cut some extra calories (in my case, points) out of my diet every day is to cut back on my sugar intake. I’m a big coffee drinker. I always have been, and always will be. So without sacrificing my coffee every day, I knew I had to make some changes.

I started out using almost 2 teaspoons of sugar in my coffee. (1 tablespoon of sugar = 1 point) My first goal was to reduce my sugar to 1 teaspoon per cup of coffee. Rather than slash my sugar in half all at once, I slowly started taking less and less sugar. Now I’m down to about 1/2 teaspoon of sugar per cup of coffee. A big difference!

By the way, I don’t drink as much coffee now as I used to either, but that’s another story for another day. :)

I used to get my iced coffee extra extra (extra cream, extra sugar). Not usually everyday, because unless I’m having a really bad day I could take or leave coffee. But then I realized I didn’t like that. So I just got it regular (cream and sugar), and then I decided to be a coffee snob and decided the darker the better. I still do milk at one or two places, but if I’m at home, or Dunkin Donuts, I drink it black with a tiny bit of sugar. I warn you, it is a slippery slope to coffee snobery once you start messing with what you put in your coffee.

I eat chocolate without suger, only with cacoa. that works. The taste is not that great.
