Weird food habits

I have tons of weird food habits, but I’ve been wondering if they led to my eating disorder or are a result of it. Some pre-date my “official” anorexic beginnings; others seem to have come about during or even after my recovery period.
For instance, when I have a hamburger, I always want to eat around the edges first, then eat the middle last. I’ve always thought the middle was the juiciest part, so I like saving it for last. However, to curb myself of this quirk (which looks incredibly weird in restaurants), I’ve taken to always cutting my burgers into quarters and eating them, point first, one at a time.
When I ate hotdogs (which are truly disgusting and I’ll never munch on again — all I can imagine is the scraps from which they come — blech), I would eat the ends first and then work on the middle part. Interestingly, I notice my son does this at times, though he’s never seen me eat one (nor will he, god willing.) Could it be genetic?
As for the peanut butter and jelly sandwich I’m eating right now… I’m tearing bits off of it and eating it slowly. That helps me avoid wolfing down food without tasting it.
Tell me — do you have weird habits that are leftovers from your eating disorder, too?

I always tear my food into pieces too. I think it stems from the belief that if I eat my food like a normal person, I will look like a pig.
My dh is embarrassed to go out to sushi with me, because I somehow manage to push off all of the rice on the rolls. And I cut my fruit into about 50+ pieces and eat it with a toothpick. Weird? I don’t think so. But maybe I’m wrong!
Yeah, I have a habit of mixing everything on my plate together (unless there is a salad there) like rice, peas, chicken, sauce etc and then taking tiny bites with a fork or even a spoon. My other thing I know is definitely left over from when my electrolytes were really messed up – eating concentrated vegetable soup out of the can, or eating salsa straight mixed with salt. I can easily eat a cup of salsa that way. My electrolytes are a bit better nowadays so I don’t need the salt as much.
I eat my sandwhiches in a circular motion until the last bite is the perfect middle. its the best part!

I eat my sandwiches in a circular motion as well. I once compared two partially eating sandwiches of mine and found the teeth marks matched perfectly. scary to be that compulsive about a sandwich. But the middle is definetly the best.
my weird habit is eating everything with a condiment.. ranch, ketchup, honey mustard, bbq sauce, syrup, etc. & if i don’t want to purge something, i’ll just eat candy because i hardly ever purge candy.
