Welcome to the April 19, 2008 edition of all about alzheimer’s.

Dr. Sam focuses ‘Dr Ed Tobineck’s enbrel treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease’ with his post on New Treatment for Alzheimer’s.

Paul Li over at Lumosity Brain Health writes “The study found that more than 1 out 3 people over the age of 70 have some degree of memory loss, excluding the cases of dementia.” in his post Memory impairment in those over 70

Alvaro Fernandez from Sharp Brains presents Brain Health and Alzheimer’s Prevention, saying, “Can something be done to improve brain health and reduce Alzheimer’s risk? much, it seems…starting with one’s job.”

Paul Heingarten from Workoutebooks discusses Top Secret Fat Loss Secret? Could Help Reduce Midlife Belly Fat ? a Key Risk Factor in Developing Dementia , writing , “Having a large gut in midlife increases the chance of dementia in old age, according to research published Wednesday [03/26/2008] that suggests that abdominal fat is a bigger risk factor than family history. The study of 6,583 adults found that people with the highest amount of abdominal fat between the ages of 40 and 45 were about three times more likely to develop dementia than those with the lowest amount of abdominal fat.”

Alexanderat Lauren on Food Health presents Rosemary Fights Mental Decline, Disease writing “A new study published in Nature Reviews Neuroscience found that carnosic acid, a compound in rosemary, may prevent or reduce the severity of Alzheimer’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease, and stroke.”

And Alzheimer’s Notes own Mary Emma Allen looks at Protecting Alzheimer’s Patients from Contractor Fraud writing, “A great concern to Alzheimer’s caregivers and families lies in the patient’s likelihood of falling for a fraudulent scheme.”
