I’m proud to say that my father still has the pencil holder that I made him in first grade…a can wrapped with two colors of yarn. Seeing that on his desk for (mumble mumble) years gives me great joy too

When I was 9 in third grade, we made a paper weight with pencil holder out of a piece of wood and painted it with nice pictures. Mine was a boy. I still have it at home and it brings me joy just to stare at it.

Reminds me of a project I did called “Strange Valentine” – Mine was a bunch of broken electrical things nailed to a board and turned on. These were all then painted erradically and then illuminated with a blacklight. It was entitled “Broken Hearts still work”
