Wendy’s Halloween Adoption Program
Unlike Unicef’’s Trick or Treat boxes that benefit, um, just UNICEF, Wendy’s and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption does something for kids and families.
Yes, I am a little biased and I do know that UNICEF does get water, food, and education to children. I also know that there are rumors circulating that they payed the Guatemalan government to shut down international adoptions before all of the children in foster care could be matched with families. That bothers me because where are these children going to go now?
So, instead of Trick or treating for UNICEF or giving out candy, why not pick up coupons so that a child can have a free Wendy’s Jr. Frosty? in 2007 the program raised almost $1.6 million for foster care adoption in the US and Canada.
“Not only does the coupon program generate national awareness for the Foundation, but the support it provides has been extraordinary,” said Rita Soronen, executive director of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. “Initiatives like the Halloween program provide the resources for the Foundation to continue to ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow and thrive in a loving and permanent home.”
Dollar booklets can be purchased at Wendy’s. Pick up a book or two for those special neighbors and family members!

Thanks for letting me know about this! I coach gymnastics and am always looking for fun prizes for the kids – Frosty’s are perfect!
THey can be redeemed until February.
What a great idea. I love Frostys!
