What A Bunch Of Alkies You All Are!

Jeez… I ask y’all for a thought or an opinion or your experience and what do we get? Almost nothing? What’s up with that? (poke, poke)
Have we, the members of AA, digressed to such a point that the only person who can offer a thought on her own comment is the original commenter?
Well then, perhaps that says an awful lot about the state of AA today… (Rule 62)
So… then… tough! Here’s what I think!
What is the message? When I speak, it was taught to me to recognize that there was only one person in that room I was speaking to that I was to reach. I am not the be all, end all, of recovery. Problem was and always will be – I’ll never know which person that person is! What do I want to tell that person?
Try to identify with me. Why? Because if, IF, you are exactly like me, i.e. you are an alcoholic, there is HOPE! There is hope and the knowledge that you can stop drinking and you will have the ability to live a life after alcohol that will be better than the one you lived before alcohol!
That is the message I attempt to pass on.

I didn’t see your question before now because I didn’t click on your blog until now. I don’t think that says a lot (or anything) about the state of AA today. I think it may mean I was busy doing other things. It may mean I inadvertently skipped past your blog as I randomly read others. It may mean I didn’t feel like leaving a comment at the time.
Please note that I just came from a meeting about CONTEMPT PRIOR TO INVESTIGATION.
“The message” you write about is surely the best thing I got from AA. I didn’t believe it when I first entered the rooms though. I didn’t think I could ever stop drinking.
Well dAAve, I’m not quite sure how to take your comment because I can’t hear your voice or see your face so I immediately take offense because it seems as if you didn’t see (poke, poke) nor did you see (Rule 62) so it appears you took what I said waaaaaay too seriously and made a comment about contempt which I took personally even though I had made a half-assed attempt at humor in my post that I believe you dismissed because you had to for whatever reason you had perhaps eh? Now the question is – do you like run on sentences or not? Jeez….
Yet, the message is still the same no matter what!
