What Books Have Been Helpful to Your Marriage?

June 17, 2007 by Bald Man

Because I am a true renaissance man, sensitive and unafraid to work on his marital relationship, I’m in the process of reading and digging up a few books on the topic for review and discussion here. While I hope to begin our conversation on the first book in the next week or so, I’d love to hear from you.

What books have been helpful to your marriage? Let me know, and I’ll add them to by library wish list.

“If the Buddah Married” by Charlote Kasl is the only marriage book I’ve read and I read it during a bad time in our relationship. It must have helped because I am still married and in the middle of a very, very happy time in my marriage.

    Kate,
    Buddha… library… check!

Can I recommend? a single mother?

The Marriage Fitness written by Mort Fertel is a great one. I failed myself in my marriage, but I still recommending it to my freinds whose marriage is in crisis.

    Joanne,
Marriages – even the “easy” ones – are hard work, so recommendations from all are welcome.

    Fitness… library… check!

I heard this said one time – in general, men don’t care that they’re not liked, as long as they are respected… whereas women always will crave affection and love.

a book i learned from – “Love and Respect” by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. a lot of small (and major) conflicts in my marriage are simply because of a lack (and ignorance) of giving a little more of each to one another.
