What Burns Me Up

I am cleaning my house today….giving everything a real good clean – before the repair people come in a day or two. I have been going through everything, and throwing things out. I just found 3 phone books from 2007 (city directory and yellow pages x 2) and on each one, they have glued coupons for complimentary consultations for hair restoration surgery.
First of all, not everyone has a problem with their baldness. Promotions like this are designed to make us feel bad about the amount of hair we have (or don’t have) on our heads. I don’t need a tremendous amount of hair, to feel good about myself – and that is just what this company thinks I need. More hair!
Second of all, on this coupon there is a before and after picture of a man. The before picture is of a man in his mid 40’s (I am guessing)- not at all unattractive, balding (although not yet completely bald), has pasty skin, is very tired looking, and is frowning. In the after picture, the man looks 15 years younger, is sporting a tan, is abut 15 pounds lighter, appears to be well rested, and looks like a member of the Kennedy family. They do not look like the same person, at all.
Thirdly, why is this company only advertising to men? In one of the coupons which actually folds out, the before and after pictures are only men. Not one picture of a woman. Do they believe that women don’t lose their hair?
I went on their website, to see if they treat women. They do – however, on their before and after pictures of their clients (in which there are 77 of them) only one picture (client #39) is a woman.
If I ever decide to enhance my head with a hair transplant, I will be looking at companies that do not plaster their ads on the cover of the yellow pages phone book!
OK my rant is over!

I agree. I don’t understand why people make such a big deal out of losing hair, especially just a little. It’s like its a disease or something.
Not everyone is going to agree with that. For some people losing their hair is traumatic.
Its just not that way with me.
Funny, that I came home tonight from work, to find another yellow pages phone book with that same stupid coupon glued to the front of it. Ridiculous!
If I actually thought it would work, I would write a letter to the yellow pages people.
Laura… and anyone else … PLEASE NEVER GET A HAIR TRANSPLANT IN THE UK!!! 1000’s of guys have had to be repaired in USA and CANADA after having appauling unatural results in ALL UK clinics!! Please research on HT forums… Like this one …
http://www.stophairlossnow.ipbhost.com/index.php?act=idx
These guys (women can go there too!) are the patients and sufferers …NOT the UK Clinics trying to talk you into going to them! This site saved my life from a discracefull UK Hair Transplant! and its MORE expensive here than in NEW YORK or Canada! (including the flight) and u’ll have a fully natural result by the worlds best Drs.
Please never go to a UK Hair Transplant Clinic… they are Butchers! Dont beleive the pics !!! That was such a good examaple you made about the pics they use….complete con.
Take care….and please everyone…check that website! Its on a sales pitch…its just for your own research.
Take care
Laura, Another Link u may like to see on this forum…

There are some other great Forums that discuss hairloss…. such as http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/ none of them are intended to tell you who to chose (apart from NOT a UK Clinic!!!!!) BUT WILL HELP anyone make to an educated decision on where to go that will give you the best result without the bull! I myslelf live in London…and made the biggest mistake by having my 1st HT here… and it looked terrible.
Good luck hope this is useful to someone…and saves a few people from a UK disaster.
Hi Laura…. this is the latest exposure to the so called ‘Best UK’ Hair Transplant clinic by FALSE ADVERTISING and wrongly using ‘before and after’ pictures that are from another company! Nothing to do with hair transplants!

The ‘Rogers Clinic’ is not alone… ALL UK Clinics MUST be AVIODED at all costs… dont believe what they tell you! Please be warned by this.
Learn about where you can go for a new natural looking HT (ALL UK residents must travel to USA or Canada to get a natural result) by reading more threads from that forum above.
Take care guys…I’m just a patient from London that suffered for years after a UK Clinic left me with huge scars and unsightly hair! I went to Dr Feller in USA to be repaired so I can live my life again.
UKguy,
thanks for sharing your story. I really appreciate it….and hopefully it is helping all of the people out in the UK who are considering transplants.
How are you doing now, after your experience with the repairs from the US?
Thanks for asking Laura.. I was a particular bad case after my UK HT! Hope u’r ok too?
I went to UK Nobel Hair Clinic (i have found many other guys now since that also went to them that are seeking repair work in USA) but I didnt have the internet or a PC at the time…so I couldnt research them like you can now! I still find is absolutely crazy that this country hasnt got a single HT clinic that provides world class natural results. But the good news is… it is even cheaper to go to the USA and thats including the hotel and flights.. than it is to get a disaster HT here in UK.
This is why I am helping to warn everyone that I can as I didnt have this luxury and I believed the UK consultant that I would have back what mother nature gave me again (and showed me picture of patients that worked on!! which I now know were bullshit pictures!) with a full head of natural looking hair! (I had lost all my self confidence and wants my hair back so bad! It was terrible and I was in a really bad way! and it ruined my life after they made a mess of it.
I didnt know about there being ‘real WORLD CLASS clinics in USA’ until just a few years ago… and since then I have been there twice and the work is in a different league entirely! There are only 3 really top class Drs out there I would allow to work on me.. Hasson & Wong .. Feller Medical … are just 2 of the Clinics you can trust 100%…and great value. Armani is another but very expensive.
It takes time to grow back after the HT.. and I have just had my 2nd… (some people only need 1 HT and others need a couple like I did) so this will all be grown out in the next 6 months. I cant wait to feel human again after what I went through with the UK HT clinic! (its already hidden the UK work even at this stage) Every Hair Transplant clinic in the UK will make you a promise they cant keep! Dont beleive what they tell you no matter how honest and kind they sound, as your hair wont look natural and just ruin your life.
Sorry for the harsh words… but if anyone wants to see what I mean… read those forums I posted earlier… and you’ll see for yourself with so many other guys now very pleased and living there lives again.
Here is a link to help anyone that might like to see some Genuine (not UK bullshit pics) of patients that were once balding.. this is only to help some of you guys.. I hope I am reaching some people that might have been otherwise going to a UK clinic and ending up like I did… take care!!

UK Guy – thanks for sharing your experience. I am hoping that this will help many people who are thinking about getting hair transplants.
The ads that I see here (in Canada) look like scams, but since I don’t know anyone who has been through one – I can’t be certain. I suppose I can go and see about making an apartment to have an assessment (although I am not in a situation quite yet where I require one).
Glad to know that your experiences in the US were good.
Hi laura, thank you! I also am hoping that there will be a few people ’saved’ from having a really poor hair transplant by seeing my posts and all I ask is they research the experiences of all the guys like me that have already been through it by reading those forums.
By the way.. you are very fortunate being in Canada! Its not only a great place! But you have 2 world class Hair Trans Clinics there on your doorstep! These are Dr Rahal http://www.rahalhairtransplant.com/index.asp
and Dr Hasson (Hasson and Wong Clinic)
http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/Doctors.asp?DrID=9
These are the very best Hair Trans Drs.. and I would happily travel to Canada all the way from London to have my hair restored by either of these Clinics.. very natural results… you really have no worries if you have any loss these guys will be able to restore your hair back to how it was.
Hope this helps..
I meant to post this link… to Dr Hasson in Canada.. http://www.hassonandwong.com (just to help you find them if you ever want to consult them in the future) take care

Hi Laura,
I just finished reading your post, and although it is frustrating for women to get good help with hair loss, hair transplants are not a good option for most women. There are very few women that can benefit from this kind of procedure. There are so many “cures” out there, yet unfortunately none of them really cure anything. There are great alternatives for women such as wigs, hair toppers, head wraps and so forth…but what’s wrong with a woman who chooses to be bald and enjoy being in her skin? Bald is wonderfully beautiful on men and women and as we move forward with our lives and realize we are so much more than our hair, we can shine out. I want to shine…how bout you?
