What did we do before the internet?

Sometimes I really want to unplug my internet connection and take a little mini vacation but most times I am so grateful for it. It’s useful when you can’t remember the lyrics to an old song that is partially stuck in your head, you can catch things you missed on American Idol over on YouTube, and when you and your husband are watching a movie and going insane by asking, “Who IS that? What was she in that we’ve seen?!” you can find out on IMDB.com. It’s really a major sanity saver.
It’s also very handy when you have a five-year-old who asks you, out of the blue, “why do bees die when they sting you?” as they’re heading off for school. Sure, I could have looked it up in the library but with my schedule, the library was a bit out of the way. Enter the Internet. After dropping her off at school I came home, brought up Google, and had my answer for her in less than two minutes. Then, when I picked her up after school was over I was able to answer her question.
Honestly. What DID we all do before the Internet?!
