What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

My son Charlie has yet to answer this question but here are some possibilities: Construction; post office workerl; auto tech.
These are some of the jobs that 17-year old Brian Colletto is learning about via a job shadowing program, Community Education Services. The 15-year old program within Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey helps students with disabilities transition to the work force. Colletto has autism and, in an article in today’s Home-News Tribune (NJ), he notes: “‘I’ll see if I like it. And then based on how much money I save over the years, if I decide I don’t like it anymore I might go back to school.’”
Charlie will be ten years old in two months and, before I know it, 17 years old, and I hope these job possibilities and more are open to him when he is older and ready to work.

I found this news clip about employment opportunities for people with disabilities at Walgreen. A Walgreen VP leads this program and he has a son with autism.
