What I Have Learned From My Morning Coffee

You all know, that I am super addicted to coffee. No point in fighting it. Just love it way too much. I usually stop for a hit of that delicious nectar 3 times a week, on my morning commute to the office.

Not only does coffee wake me up, but for the past year or so (or longer) a very popular coffee bar has printed quote on their take out cups. So technically, you could say it also educates me. So that is two very good things that coffee does for me.

This week, one of these caffeinated sayings really spoke to me.

Run when you can, walk when you have to, crawl if you must; just never give up.

If there was ever something that should be told to patients of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome when they are first diagnosed, it is that. And its a great reminder for those of us, who have been living with this illness for a long time.

The quote is attributed to a runner named Dean Karnazes. Well Said!

  1. Hi, my name’s Alicia, and I too am a coffee addict. :) How great for you to get quotes along with your morning joe! That is definitely something I would appreciate too :)

    Alicia,

got a starbucks in your town? That is who provides the quotes. Certainly there is better coffee to be had out there, but they don’t come with the convenience that Starbucks has. Especially when there is at least one for every 4 or 5 blocks, out here.

I’m sitting here reading my quote and thinking…I’ve read this quote at least 50 times. Yes, we make a daily visitation. I’ll drink any coffee. ok, that’s not true. I’ll drink instant, but not folgers. Although instant makes me see funny.

    hmmm instant but not folgers.

forgive me, but I am not up on my instant coffee.
    Why not folgers?

What does instant do to your vision – or brain?

I used to love international coffee (the powder) but after a month or so when I was in college (where all you could get was flavored coffee)- got over that really fast.

Can you imagine a place that didn’t have real coffee – and everything was vanilla flavored, or butter rum, or raspberry chocolate.

I much prefer little independent coffee houses to the big chains – but this was a town that was really hurting for a starbucks, and the nearest one was I have no idea – 3 provinces away, maybe?

If you can drink coffee, and are well enough to even have a job, there’s no way in hell you can claim to have chronic fatigue sydrome.
Try not being able to walk to the mailbox for 10 years or so.

Juliana, thanks for taking the time to comment.

I am not going to enter into an argument about what CFS is or isn’t.

I hope you start feeling better.
