What makes people do such stupid, barbaric things?
I can safely admit I’m addicted to both the History Channel and Animal Planet. Both channels offer some captivating tales of humans – over the decades, centuries and beyond.
A few weeks ago I watched a show that showed torture devices from hundreds of years go and just moments go I saw an ad detailing the sport of “bear baiting.”
What exactly is it that goes off in a persons head that would make them want to torture anyone, anything and especially an animal who has had his only real defense, his teeth, ripped from his head?
Honestly, if I had my way, I’d take the people who found it so damn sporty, rip their teeth out, dress them up in a bear coat and let them live on the side of sport for just enough time to make them wish they’d never done such a horrific thing.
I’d never want them to die as the result of their sport, only to learn exactly what it’s like to live as the animals they torture.
Do some people actually believe just because an animal walks on four legs or can’t physically speak – that they somehow don’t feel pain – or do they even care?
I am so disgusted in some people – it makes me wonder just why some people are allowed to be born – what exactly would their purpose be?
Ironically, their purpose seems to be in reminding us of our humanity.
Eww. I’m glad I didn’t see anything about that. Never heard of it, but it sounds just awful.
I’ve been watching these extraordinarily stupid acts and have made an observation… have you noticed that 99% of these people are men? Men have that gene, chromosome or SOMETHING that makes them do crazy things, I don’t know what it is. It’s the same thing that makes them want to go to war to protect us though, so I’m not complaining… but seriously. Watch America’s Funniest Home Videos for 20 minutes, and you’ll see that MOST of the stupid things that are attempted are by men!
