What! You’ve Finished Your Books Already?

Rapid Readers

Even though they were busy with other activities yesterday, Christmas Day, my grandchildren have finished reading several of their books.  These weren’t simply picture books because Kara and Alex are teens.  They’re such avid readers, that when they get books they like, they’re reading them every spare moment.  Now they’re rereading some and trading other books with other family members.

I haven’t finished mine yet.  I do like to savor books, although when I really get interested I dislike having to put a book down…or read it late into the night.  I do find the Civil War book is giving me ideas for Civil War children’s novel, or perhaps a related book.  (See Mandy’s blog.)
What books did you and your children receive for Christmas?

    - The Kid who Became President by Dan Gutman
    - The Tale of Beetle the Bard (The newest Harry Potter one)
    - Disney stories
    - Hannah Montana book

  2. lindsey says:

My son received some Shel Silverstein books, Richard Scary’s Best Storybook Ever, Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost and a *beautifully* illustrated children’s literature book.

He’s two and more into books than I’ve ever seen a child. He is absolutely enthralled with the illustrations.
