When Hoarding Attacks II!

I have already explained that hoarding can end up biting back at you later.  Today, I’d like to share a personal instance of that.

I put together some pre-fabricated shelves.  Not a big deal, right?

Well, I decided that I could get away with nailing on the cardboard backing with only 3/4 of the nails they gave me–that way I could keep the rest of them for something else, like hanging picture frames.

Let’s just say that my idea worked–until we moved.  The backing was not, as I had originally thought, just for looks.  The backing, it seems, was meant to stabilize the entire group of shelves…

So, if you are tempted to hoard “leftover” pieces from pre-fabricated items, think very hard about it.  Perhaps they aren’t “left over.”
