When Should Kids Fly The Coop?

Is it just me and the fact that our four kids are 13-15 that I dream of the day when I can go visit them at THEIR place?
There are many times I jokingly tell my kids that one of these days I’m going to visit them — walk through their house with mud on my shoes, leave dirty dishes on their coffee table and leave their bathroom in a shambles — but in reality, I hope that my kids will grow up and leave home.
I’ve got this little motto thing going — “how can I miss you if you don’t go away.” And one day it will apply to my kids too.

I can’t even begin to imagine them being TWENTY-THREE and still at home.
Am I being a mean-ol-mom when I look forward to the day my kids fly the coop?
What about you? Are you like me or are you like the Walton’s and welcome the idea of your kids staying at home?
