When the Running Gets Rough. . .

Pink Insoles for Shoes
On My New Goal of the Week

My one goal of the week? Saving my feet! I hate that “running burn” that I get at the gym (yes, even when speed-walking). Sometimes I want to blast my way through a workout and my feet just. hurt. Plus ladies can have problems with their feet and ankles, and that includes me.

So I’ve done some research, and after cramming many a pair of insoles into my shoes, I did end up with a favorite pair. The tricky thing is that insoles can be broken down into major groups, like cushioned, stabilizing, and the dual versions that target every area, although sometimes not as thoroughly. I ended up with the Dr. Scholls PowerWalk Insoles, which you can get from eBay, and I adore them. The shock-absorbing heel is just amazing, and since they are perfectly designed for walking activities, I feel like the cushioning ability is top-notch.

On Foods

On another–and I warn you, completely random–topic, I spoke with someone about foods that are good for my liver last week. It’s so true what they say about your body craving what you need. According to the nutritionist with whom I was speaking, I need to up my intake of sour foods, and that’s what I’ve been craving lately: grapefruit, liver, split peas, the whole lot. One word: wow.

Now trying to mix those foods in with the foods I prepare with the rest of my family. . . that’s a different story.
