Who Do You Think You Are?

I managed to catch an interesting TV programme on SBS the other night. The show is called Who Do You Think You Are? and highlights well known celebrities researching their own family histories. The programme I watched had Jeremy Clarkson research his family link to the Kilner Jar. Jeremy is well known for his Top Gear TV programme.
Although, I did miss the first part of the show I was able to pick up and follow as Jeremy tried to unearth long forgotten facts about his ancestors. I found the entire show fascinating viewing. Next week features Jack Thompson. The website has loads of topical information if you are researching your own family history, so make sure you have a look. There is also a forum for viewers to discuss the programme and anything else relevant to genealogy. I’m looking forward to learning what Thompson has in his family history. Hopefully you’ll find something useful there, too.

I saw this show for the first time too. It was really interesting. I’m looking forward to watching the Aussie version of the series.
Hi Pam,
Yes, I have to agree. The one about Jack Thompson should be quite good. Thanks for commenting.
I would like to find out about my history, in particular about my parents who I never saw not even a picture, brought up in an orphanage in UK and have searched for many years, can you help by directing me to the appropriate method. many thanks
Yes I fine the programme extremely interesting, especially the indepth of search and results I know I am not famous but …….
I shall finish now and hope I get a positive feedback which will put me on the right path. I have been to all the usual places, but not sure what I am looking for. How do I find what I am looking for.
Hi JT Nolan,
As much as I would love to help I don’t really know enough on this topic to give you any good advice. I would suggest taking your questions to someone who studies family histories. For more info try ancestry.com and similar websites. They have forum boards where you can seek help, etc. I hope this gives you some help. Thanks for asking me. I sure hope you find the answers to your questions.
