Who Will be the Next Food Network Star

So did you vote for your favorite in Food Network’s “The Next Food Network Star”? The competition has narrowed down to two. Two very different personalities and cooks. One that should have his own show and the other, well let’s just say “girls” that he just needs to take his little ole’ feet and head on home. The two left are Guy Fieri and that other guy, Reggie Southerland.
Guy Fieri comes to us via Santa Rosa, CA owns three restaurants and not only knows the business, but knows how to cook. He is “Off T
he Hook” with not only his spiky, bleached hair but for the pilot he pushed the envelope with a Tequila Turkey Fettuccine and a Breath Mint Pie. His demeanor was relaxed during the show, but his different take on food, presentation and personality made me want to go to FoodTV.com and download his recipes. For some reason the Food Network higher ups (judges, Susie Fogelson and Bob Tuschman) have been overly concerned that America is not ready for Guy’s charms and talent. I hope that America isn’t hung-up on the punked out hair, but that their mouths water over the rocking food….oh, and then there is Reggie.
Reggie Southerland 
is another “Sassy” Californian who seems nice enough, but his “Sassy” Al Roker like charm only goes too far with us “Girls”and I guess he forgot that there are men who actually do enjoy watching the Food Network too. His recipes, Roasted Balsamic-Glazed Chicken and All Grown Up Raspberry Hot Tarts (Chicken and Pop-Tarts) were simple, normal and frankly didn’t look too pleasing to the eye. As nice and “Sassy” as Reggie is, his “eh” recipes and ramblings proved he is not ready to be the Next Food Network Star.
So, now it is up to America. What will they decide? Frankly, I feel like this one is truly a no brainer, but after several disappointments with shows like American Idol, I have come to realize that America likes to disappoint. Stay tuned this Sunday, April 23 at 9pm to find out Who Will Be the Next Food Network Star.

I totally agree. After seeing the show this week I voted for Guy. Now, I just wish they weren’t running the show opposite the Sopranos!
I’m a much bigger fan of Reggie. Guy is all smoke and mirrors with little substance. That tequila turkey fettucini, well it was better when it was known as penne with vodka sauce. He just doesn’t seem real to me, and the little of his personality I did see just seems obnoxious. Reggie all the way!!!
