Who’s Your Baby Mama?

Do I admit that this movie looks, frankly, pretty damn funny? Offensive? I am sure. Inaccurate? Not sure. (I’m guessing yes.) While I am not the biggest fan of Amy Poehler, I hold a soft spot in my heart to Tina Fey, if only because I feel as if we always seemed to be living with the exact same “almost there, but not quite there” haircuts at the exact same times in our lives.
I confess, gestational surrogacy is a topic that I have steered clear of until now. Mainly due to ignorance. Dozens of articles scream daily about the implications of surrogacy options in other countries, particularly those seen as less developed than ours. And perhaps I’ll delve into that here. Later.
For now, I’d like to share with you some blogs from real women who have chosen to be gestational surrogates. There is actually a section on “Baby Mama”s website entitled “True Tales” – tales from surrogates, couples choosing surrogacy, and others. If you’re interested in more than a few paragraphs, check out Rayven, who is pregnant with her fifth child as a gestational surrogate, or the Bump Fairy, who is days away from a transfer.
And then tell me what you think. Are you interested in learning more about gestational surrogacy?

I simply could not imagine parting with a life that has grown in me for nine months. Just saying “hey, here you go” after having bonded? Nope, don’t think so. Then there’s the question of the mental stability of the donors and the donees. What if she/they change their minds? What if there’s friction between the women folk? I just can’t imagine dealing with such a sensitive situation.
My life right now is craving the comic relief that movie looks like it might provide, lol.
You know what I’ve been interested in learning more about lately? This “trend” I keep hearing about (online, on TV – shows and news) regarding military wives and surrogacy. I’ve heard many military wives are becoming surrogates to help “make ends meet,” which raises all kinds of red flags at once in my mind.
As a fellow blogger I wanted to chime in and say YES to writing and learning more about Surrogacy. If you take a peek at my blog, listed below (And the web site as well) you will see that I was a gestational surrogate 2x giving birth to two sets of twins…it was really an amazing and different experience…EACH time! And, no, I had no problem giving the biological parents their children once they were born…I have my own, thankyouverymuch! LOL I don’t need 2 sets of twins in my life!
If you would like to learn more, feel free to contact me. ( and that goes for anyone reading this)
All my best!

Gab:
I hate to admit this, because I usually despise “mainstream” movies, but this one does look pretty funny. Let us know if you see it!
I have recently joined a great ‘Community for Infertility’. Take a look.
