Not only did Stephenie Meyer write a teen vampire novel that encouraged chastity (so parents could actually encourage their teens to read it) but she also knows how to use the Internet and did so strategically.

Meyer set up her own website to accompany the site that her publisher set up for her. She began interacting with her fans. She went to their blogs and posted comments. She wrote personal comments to them and integrated herself into the Internet blogging culture.

Brilliant.
