Why The BBC Is Dear To Me

Our big brown couch. When we bought it, three years ago, it was the most expensive thing we had ever purchased. Within one week of the BBC (big brown couch) residing in our home,  one of the kids decided to practice to be a ER surgeon on one of its cushions. Since then it has suffered many injuries, spills and nap time bladder control accidents. We have cleaned it many times, but it will never look decent. That is just how we like it!

The BBC fits all nine of us, comfortably. It has soft arms that make excellent pillows. The kids can fold out the hide away bed and watch movies on it. It is where I read to the kids, snuggle up with my hubby and yes…it is where I blog. I even had a great picture of me blogging while curled up in my favorite couch corner, but like everything else in this house, the camera got broken this week. The culprit has yet to be located, and frankly, I’m not going to waste my time tracking him/her down. I found this picture to use instead, which seems more appropriate, since most of my blogging is done in the midst of the chaos of our daily lives. I have had to re do so many posts because of a lap dwelling child accidentally hitting the delete button, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our family’s BBC is my favorite spot and one that I will always hold dear to my heart for all of the purposes it has served and memories it holds!

    Too Cute!!!!!!!

  3. Your carmel apples should match the BBC quite nicely! LOL! Great pic! Hope you get the camera fixed soon and that no one practices neurosurgery on it!

  4. I pictured you blogging at the place that I saw on Super Nanny. I think it was a brown desk.

I’d love some new living room furniture, but I’m afraid it would also suffer rips, stains, pee, and anything else. I think I might wait a few more years to make that purchase. :)

Adorable photo! I can’t blog on the couch my laptop gets very hot.

We bought a brown, paisley print couch for that very reason. Short of aunt Bea’s plastic covers there’s not much you can do to protect furniture around kids – we just have to stick it out until they get older..

I too pictured you at that desk. Glad to see you can be comfortable, I just love mine, that’s where I’m at now. BCC are the best.
