		<description>This is so sadly true. A few years ago, I was witness to how one of my co-workers got about $5,000 more when negotiating for a new job outside the company. He basically flat out told the company (flat out lied actually) that he had a better offer with less commute, so he wouldn&#039;t take less than X. He was so confident that he got his desired salary even though there wasn&#039;t actually a &quot;better&quot; offer.

I took a job for less than what I wanted because I was feeling desperate for a job change in the midst of a company transition. To this day I&#039;m still mad at myself for not asking for what I felt I was worth.</description>
