I remember when I was 12 years old and I was writing my own version of ‘plays’. lol! I so wanted to be a writer! I then began to write children’s stories by sending letters to a niece overseas. She loved them and so did her mom! Over the years, many friends and family have said I have a great ‘talent’ for writing. Lack of self-esteem and such have kept me from pursuing this life-long dream. And then I saw this contest! What a wonderful, dream-come-true prize!!! I am crossing my fingers, toes, and rubbing my lucky rabbit’s foot that I win! lol! Thank you for the contest!

Not an “educated” writer, but would still love to try my hand at writing children’s books. Lack of self confidence is one problem that deters me from pursuing that dream.

I suspect I started writing (in my head) back when I was still in the womb. I feel much more confident writing than speaking – my thoughts just coalesce and truly “speak,” sometimes even sing, when I write.
Friends, acquaintances and clients all tell me to pursue this lifelong love of mine. I’m thinking what I need is the proper “cocktail” or “rainbow spectrumzs” (in this instance, medical definitions/terminology) of inspiration, self-discipline, visualization, committment, true grit and the magic of amusement (aka – being in touch with the muses…) Thank you, this could be the catalyst or the flint I need to light my creative creative spirit.
