Win a Diabetes Book

I’m giving away a copy of my latest book, 21 Simple Things You Can Do to Help Someone With Diabetes here today! I hope any of you with diabetes, or those that have a loved one with the disease, will enter to win.

So many books out there are all about diet and exercise and medicine. This book is about the personal toll diabetes can sometimes take, and how you (as a friend of the diabetic) can help.

diabetes-book

Here’s a description:

Why should non-diabetics get informed? Because as much as we know about diabetes treatment today, the support from our family and friends still plays a part in how healthy we are. An understanding approach from someone who cares means everything to us.

Your diabetic friend or relative counts on you to be the person in their life that “gets it” when no one else does. This book will tell you what you can do to help. Things like what you should (and shouldn’t) say, what you should learn to truly be supportive, and even how you can help in the fight for a cure.

21 Things You Can Do To Help Someone With Diabetes will point you in the right direction so you can truly support your diabetic friend.

To enter, leave a message on this post. I’ll choose a winner at random by Monday, July 6th. I’ll choose a winner at random and announce the lucky guy or gal the next day.

My mother in law has diabetes, the type that you have to watch what you eat and can go into a coma if your blood sugar gets messed up. She resents having it and is quite angry about getting older in general. Would be nice to have a resource to help her come to terms with her condition and maybe get back to happy. Thank you for this opportunity ☺

  3. Laura says:

My dear friend’s husband was just diagnosed with diabetes. He wold be the last person you would think could get this disease! In fact the doctor thinks a virus caused his, not bad eating or family heritage. Any help she can get and for us to know would be great.

  5. My aunt has Diabetes. We were very close when we were young, but now she is in such bad health and has gained so much weight, she doesn’t want anyone to see her. She won’t even tell me her new address so I can visit her. I’m very sad to lose this relationship and would love to know what I could do or say to make her feel better. Sinerely, Becky Phillips – Arlington, TX

  6. Gay Allen (subscribed) says:

My son contracted type 1 diabetes 2 years ago when he was 19. No one in the family has any history of diabetes so it was a big shock. What had we done wrong, we thought?? Nothing we could pick on. He seems to be coping well as a young man and holds down a full time job. He enjoys partying with his friends and I have to assume he takes care with his diabetes. But it’s hard to keep a check when they’re that age. I’d love to have this book to give me some help.

  7. Debi says:
