Winter Wonderland contest

My DH has been busy in his studio lately and has created these charming little snowflake fiber art tags:

The tags are approximately 1 inch square with holes pierced in each corner – perfect for stitching into a piece of fiber or mixed-media art, added to your scrapbook or even made into jewelery! The large snowflake has been etched into the copper. The other tag with the three small snowflakes have been hand-sawn into the metal, just leaving the outlines.
To enter the contest, just leave a comment explaining how you will use the tags in the comment section at the bottom of this post. Don’t forget to leave a valid email address – I can’t contact you without it
The contest will run until Sunday December 16th – feel free to enter as many times as you’d like! The winner will be decided by a random draw and emailed privately.
Good luck

Are you kidding me? I am not using them as gift tags. I am going to put them on a beautiful piece of velvet cord and wear them as pendants on a necklace.
I love bookmarks, and I can see these being attached to some of my hand-dyed fabrics to hold a place in my book.
Half the fun of reading is using all the neat bookmarks I have!

Well, Kate’s idea is good, but mine is even better LOL!!! I will be stitching them into one of my little mixed media art quilts
These would be beautiful on my Christmas tree. This year I am only putting on hand made ornaments, including a lot of inchies.
I’d use it in my weekly quilt series! They’re beautiful!
I know that I probably am not supposed to enter, what with being your mother and everything,
B U T ! ! ! ! ! ! ! holyhonkinhaleueah those are gorgeous.
Okay, not an entry, just a comment.
love
Mum (who reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally thinks they’re deeeeeeeeeeeevine!)
These are lovely. I would make a fiber background to attatch it to and wear it as a pin.
I love the little copper tags. I have a love for copper because it reminds me of my mother, who passed away many years when I was 17. She left behind a collection of copper. I would put these babies on a felted bowl and display them with my mom’s collection.
These are lovely … I’d use them to adorn one of my hand-made deersuede-covered books. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I think they would make really pretty dog tags!
I think they would be a wonderful addition to one of my bird ornaments :} They’re gorgeous and finely done, a nice sensitivity to them.
These are soooo cute! My daughter wants them to make a ‘fabric collage’ as she calls art quilts! But I would use them in a little faric winter broach! We LOVE snow!

I would hang them from a light string. You know, like from a hanging fan or light fixture. Very cool arty thing to pull. Then I could think of the artist every time I pulled it. Think of the care and creativity that went into it. That’s what I like in an object.
I would attach them to my daughter’s Christmas present(s)! She always receives a ’special something’ which represents Christmas on her presents and this piece of fiber art tag is pefect. By the way, her Christmas presents this year are 6 quilt tops I finished and quilter for her. My daughter has changed her ‘hobby’ and has gone from quilting/dyeing/painting to digital photography. So ‘mum’ (me!) finished some of her art quilts this year! I loved doing it!
Thanks!
I LOVE these, paired with velvet they would decorate my wreath…or maybe me!
Hopefully, your DH can make some for your mom. Great way to get in-law points!

I thought I would use them as stamps.
Those are really cute, you have a talented man.
I would use them to make a piece of Christmas art using hand-dyed fabric. The bigger star would be the star over the Nativity. The smaller would be a gift from one of the Magi
I would like to use these with my embellishments. I would surround them with as many copper beads and other copper objects and then decide if it is a wall piece or a Christmas tree ornament.
These are beautiful… they make me think of when I lived in Colorado. I’d love to use them in my new journal quilts that I’m making based on the places I’ve lived… What fun!
I would stitch these onto the side of a dark blue knitted/felted handbag for evening. The copper would stand out beautifully. I’d place them on point and then do embroidery around them.
FABULOUS!
Wow! They would look great on an art quilt. How are the edges finished?
every year i give handmade gifts to the ladies in the quilting bee that i am in. and this year i would like to give this gift of yours to a junior quilting bee who is only 10 years old. i would make a quilting pin for her.
Love ‘em!!
Sorry, folks, but to me they just beg to be on velvet. It’s a contrast thing, and I would love to put them on a hand dyed velvet background with some beads and silk embroidery and finish them as hanging sachets for our closets which are forever musty and stale. Maybe a peppermint-based potpourri to enhance all that cool snow theme…
*sigh* Absolutely de-lovely work.
PS. My daughter is just plain picturing them in a frame on the wall.
Which is a pretty good idea to me, too. They deserve it!
Whoops – I should have included this in the post
The edges have been hand-sanded and then polished – they’re nice & smooth!
I’d use them to decorate the Christmas stocking I’m making for my new sister-in-law.
Absolutely beautiful!
They are beautiful. And its perfect that there are two because I will make them into necklaces that my twin girls can wear. I love that they are snowflakes because snowflakes are the perfect metaphor for my twins. Snowflakes may look the same from afar, but really, each one is unique. Just like my girls.
I’m sorry to leave entries back-to-back but I really want to enter once a day so I can have those to add to my mom’s collection of copper! Does your husband use a stamp to tap the snowflakes or does he free-hand them? The flakes themselves must be quite small. Just beautiful.
I’m thinking jewelry too…I love copper!
Can you tell us who won the snowflake fiber art tags, please? Or did I miss it somewhere?
I’d actually use these tags for scrapbooking. They’d make a great embellishment. Thanks!
