Womb surgery ’saves baby’s leg’

Medicine and surgery just keeps getting more like science fiction than we ever thought was possible.

Earlier this year, surgeons operated on a fetus when her mom was only at 22 weeks’ gestation. According to the article, Womb surgery ’saves baby’s leg’, the baby, who is now born and named Leah, was less than 20 cm (7.8 inches) when the surgeons used lasers to remove bands that had tightened around her leg.

It’s an interesting story.
