If you thought Tuberculosis (TB) is something you no longer can get, think again. The disease is still deadly and according to one article, “killing millions worldwide.” In the state of Indiana alone, there were 118 active cases last year.

Tuesday, March 24th, is World TB Day. The day was chosen in honor of German physician Robert Koch, who first discovered the “bacteria causing TB” in 1882.
Approximately two billion people worldwide have the bacteria that causes TB, which is typically spread through coughs or sneezes from someone with the disease. While it is highly contagious, it is also very treatable with antibiotics.
