Would You Do It?

Encouraged by me readers’ emails and comments, I am now full on in my search for an acupuncturist. I have a great lead for one in the DC area, but I need one closer, especially if I plan to use it after my little guys are implanted. I have one of my BFFs on the case. She promised to ask her therapist, her New Age-y neighbor and her yoga instructor. Quite a trifecta. We figure if one is recommended by more than one, that might be the one to call. I would ask my clinic, but they are also almost 2 hours away. I know its a long shot, but if any of you are aware of a great acupuncturist in the central PA area, leave a comment, drop me a line. I am all ears.
And as always, I’d love to know what you think about all this.

I love acupuncture. It improved my cycles and general health dramatically.
I know this may cold comfort if you hate needles, but the needles are very, very thin and they don’t feel anything like an injection needle, not by a long shot. In fact, you barely notice some of them, while some can feel very powerful and strange. They are almost never even vaguely painful. And any sting disappears in minutes.
That’s my experience, anyway. I think it’s completely worth trying.
So yeah – this exact topic came up in my babycenter preconception bulletin today. =) I’ll keep an ear out, but PLEASE let me know what you find out. Maybe we can go together! =)
Your what? What’s the babycenter preconception bulletin? You have piqued my curiosity! I have a handful of leads, going to make some calls today. I will definitely let you know what I find out!
acupuncture helped my body adjust to the shots, t it relaxed me during the cycles i did, AND it helped my body recover more quickly from each cycle. also it made me feel like i was doing something positive to help the little embies and that is always a nice thing.
good luck in your search, i’ll ask my acupuncturist if he knows anyones in your area, i’m actually going there today after work!
Thank you, Stacy! I would really appreciate it.
I hear what you’re saying about the proactivity. I have to feel like this cycle will somehow be different and in my mind, perhaps this is a little something I can do to make it so. Hearing that it helps adjust to the shots is a bonus.
How often do you go?
I started in when my BFF was pregnant with my Godson Benny. =) I figured, hey – I wanna have some babies, so maybe I should start learning now. Can’t hurt, right? =) Here’s the link on their site to the accupuncture article:

ok — sorry for the delay: my acupuncturist had one name but no number:
roland or rolly brown in the philly area.
I have a second name: trey casimir he is in pa, i do not have his number but he is a healer and i have worked with him before although not for acupuncture.
as for how often i go: it depends. i used to go for sever back problems so when ever i had spasms i was there — no i don’t have those. i usually go a few time a year maybe three times. But with the IVF cycles i went once before they began and then as soon as i could after they failed. i’d discuss timing with him so it may depend on each person i.e. for me it was once before a cycle started but for someone else it might be more.
hope this helps.
