No, I’m not talking about your to-do list — I’m talking about your goals and resolutions for 2007!
RESOLUTIONS TIP #4: Write down your goals, and post the list somewhere that you’ll see it all the time and be reminded of exactly what you’re doing for yourself — and why.
In the TopAchievement.com article “Goal Setting: Powerful Written Goals in 7 Easy Steps!” Gene Donohue offers this advice:
Writing down your goals creates the roadmap to your success. Although just the act of writing them down can set the process in motion, it is also extremely important to review your goals frequently. Remember, the more focused you are on your goals the more likely you are to accomplish them.
Seems pretty logical, right? But wait, there’s MORE!
Goal Setting Guide takes it to the next level with four tips for actually writing the goals:
- Write your goal in the positive.
- Write your goals out in complete detail.
- Write in present tense.
- Re-write your goals.
Check out the full details for these steps right here.
You’ll find the system that works best for you when it comes to recording your goals, but here’s what I’ve done:
- First, I plan them out in my mind.
- Second, I write them down by hand.
- Third, I type them up in a large, attractive font.
- Finally, I print a copy for my desk and set an image of the final as my computer wallpaper.
How do you keep your goals at the forefront of your mind?

I’m glad I wrote my goal down over at my blog, it does keep me focused.
