Writing a Thankful Poem – A Fun Family Thanksgiving Activity

Thankful Poem

Why not write a Thankful Poem for Thanksgiving?  This can be an activity you’re involved in with your children, holiday guests or simply yourself.

For details on one way to do this, check out my post, Mary Emma’s Writing Tip – A Thankful Poem, at One Book Two Book.

Another way to write the poem is to spell the word THANKSGIVING down the page.  Then write something for each letter, such as Traveling to Grandma’s, Having a festive family meal, etc.  Then decorate the page with  a Thanksgiving motif.

What about making a collage of either type of poem and decorating with fabric, paper, and embellishments?

Thankful Poems might be a Thanksgiving Day activity or something you do over the weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Eileen says:

I wrote thankful emails to some special people this year. I know it’s not as personal, but it’s immediate and I thought that would be nice – for them to know I was thinking of them and giving thanks at that very minute.

  2. Peggy says:

Good project. Being thankful is actually good for your health too! : )

  3. Thanks, Eileen and Peggy, for stopping by Quilting and Patchwork and giving your input. Since e-mails (along with text messages) are so popular nowadays, they are becoming the usual way to send thank you notes and other communication. Great idea, Eileen.

And, Peggy, thanks for sharing that tidbit about thankfulness being good for one’s health.
