Yep, a snow day

So I was mentioning the likelihood of a snow day here in the Montreal area and I was right. I was poking around a Montreal group on Flickr earlier and here’s an example of what the area looks like:

The area I’m in is even worse. Maybe it’s just the street I’m on, we get a lot of wind that blows snow around into huge drifts. All I know is that about two hours ago I climbed on my couch to look out the window – I had to climb because the snow drifts on our balcony are taller than me – and there were still no sidewalks. The streets themselves were surprisingly clear and thank goodness since I’ll have to walk on them to get to the store later.
I’m tempted to take my oldest daughter out to play in it, but I’ll have to see because I will need to leave my youngest inside since she hates trying to walk in the snow and it’s currently too deep for her to move in at all. My husband is under the weather so I’ll have to see if he’s up to taking care of a little kid who doesn’t really want to go out but who will be jealous to be left behind nonetheless!

Ours doesn’t look THAT bad, but it might as well be. the kids had a snow day today and I’ve got a HORRIBLE headache. Think the two are related?
