You Collect What?

What is it that makes people collect things?  I mean, yes, I collect the odd thing to make into some other “odd” thing–but what about people who go crazy (in the kind sense, not the “get away from my family” sense) about a certain type of thing?

Take, for instance, the person collects string.  What’s so interesting about string?  To the normal person, string is something to use, not to keep–but for some reason, someone somewhere probably hoards the stuff.  It need not be string, it could be animals.  It could be fossils.

For me it seems to be books and hobbies.  I collect old books and new books and hobbies from all sorts of places.  (Not to mention certain special something that neighbors throw into their trash…)

Whatever you collect, make sure your house will hold it.  (I suggest you pick something small and/or inexpensive and not too smelly.)
