You Just Can’t Return Some Gifts

My thought today is: If more people made gifts for their friends and family, Boxing Day might be a good day to relax and/or eat some Christmas dinner leftovers–since homemade gifts aren’t very returnable.
Plus, making gifts helps me remember that the season is about giving, not about getting what I want.
So, before you return your two or three nice gifts for that one super-cool-I’ll-use-it-once-before-I’m-bored gift, think about the people who gave you the original gifts at least once–even if it’s in the returns line at your store of choice.

I hardly ever return anything. I regift it before I return it. I might exchange it for the right size.
I used to return – but that’s when I needed the money to pay the rent or eat.
I have returned gifts as well–and I agree with the reasons behind all of your comment, Tracee.
I think I will also add that receiving duplicate gifts is probably a legitimate reason to exchange or regift. I suppose that handmade gifts would reduce this particular category as well.
Thanks for the practical comment–sometimes I need a thought or two from others to keep me in line.
I love original gifts that I can use. Scarves, necklaces, bracelets and paintings have all been my favourite gifts in the past and I got none this year. So, if anyone got any of the above that they don’t want, I’d be a happy re-gift recipient.
I like that type of stuff, so you can’t have mine.
One of the ones I liked best was a hemp bracelet my wife made me, and the extra materials that came wrapped up as another gift. Does my wife know me or what?
