YouTube Video Helps Refocus Our Mental Energy

In today’s world, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in our own lives without pausing to think about what others are going through.
The lady you flipped off for cutting you off on the highway may be experiencing some severe depression. The man you shot the evil eye for taking too long to pay for his items in a checkout line may be grieving over the death of his daughter. The little kid who keeps using your driveway as a skateboard ramp may not have parents who particularly care to have him at home.
A friend of mine passed this YouTube video to me. It’s called “Get Service,” and it’s worth the four minutes and 24 seconds it takes to watch it. It highlights situations similar to the ones I described above, and it may just help you pause and think about your actions and how you can better use your mental energy the next time you’re feeling frustrated with others.

@ Chato – LOL! Don’t feel alone; I was all teary-eyed by the end of it, too. And it reminds me so much of the things my dad used to say to my sister and me when we were younger and would make inconsiderate comments.
ME: “Wow, Dad, you should have seen what so and so was wearing today!”
DAD: “Maybe that’s all her parents can afford. I’m sure it makes it even harder when people make fun of her.”
A whole childhood (and bunch of teen years) of those kinds of responses are enough to put one’s ego in serious check. It’s amusing now, because people tell me I do the same thing, haha.
