15 Hours Treading Water

Yes, 15 hours.
That’s how long 13-year-old Chris Marino treaded water eight miles off the coast of Volusia County in Florida, after he and his father, Walter Marino, were swept out to sea Saturday night, First Coast News reports. Walter Marino was rescued by the Coast Guard after treading water for 12 hours. He was dehydrated; Chris Marino’s condition was not immediately known.
“The family said they’re still in shock both father and son survived,” says the First Coast News. It really seems miraculous but, needless to say, I’m very glad to be reporting that Walter and Chris are safe, and back on land. Very.

I immediately thought of Charlie and you guys when I heard this story this morning.
Scary stuff, but nice to have a happy ending!
Joe
I am glad that they both were safe, as I have a nephew that is 7yo with autism. They have incredible surviving skills and threshold where there is no danger as this helped him also I am sure in his endeavors of treading the water, and I am glad to see something about autism that can surprise the world as they are heros also and glad something positive was stated to the world as this was a news story with a positive ending!!! Maybe we all have something we need to learn and should embrace the positive*
Also, just a thought, but Ponce De Leon iInlet, is where this boy with autism was discovered as Ponce De Leon discovered the cure to the fountain of youth, maybe this is a clue as to where the cure could possibly lie, as sometimes things happen in the form of mystique, or miracle, but usually there is something to look into that lies beneathe the surface, as the answer could be right before our eyes, using this child as a hero and example to explore a little more and a little closer, isn’t that what Ponce De Leon would do?
I will quit writting after this blog.,although Ponce De Leon never discovered gold or the mythical fountain of youth as indian legendary claims there was a magical spring of water that was located nearby to make older people look young again, maybe we need to look again and see what we discover*
@lisa peacock, I kind of wondered about the name of the inlet……. there’s photos of Walter and his dad (and Walter in a wheelchair, looking ok) via the Daily Mail.
@Club166,
Jim and I once did speculate about how long Charlie would keep treading water — not that I’m inclined to experiment!
