7 Interesting Details on My Favorite Subject

Last week, Tracee tagged me in a meme. According to the rules, I now have to tell you seven interesting things about me. The problem being, I am not an especially interesting person. The most I can hope for is that I have actually done a few interesting things in my time on this planet.

Fact 1. I haven’t slept through the night in almost 5 years.

Back story: Pregnancy and motherhood.

Fact 2: One of my short stories was recently short-listed for a writing award.

Back story: Anticipation of the results of this competition may be contributing to my sleep issues.

Fact 3: I recently stayed up very late reading about organic apple farming technology for an article.

Back story: It was for work.

Fact 4: My secret wish is to convince Puff Daddy, or someone even cooler, to speak out against modern slavery.

Back story: I think the most important thing I have ever done as a writer is to write about the modern slave trade.

Fact 5: I am always in a hurry.

Back story: I wasn’t always so rushed, but I didn’t realise how bad things have gotten until my four year-old started telling me “I don’t have time,” whenever I ask him to do something.

Fact 6. I have a huge ego.

Back story: I believe my life has a purpose and that there is room for everyone who is on this planet to do something wonderful. I don’t intend to miss the chance.

Fact 7. I am actually very insecure.

Back story: I regret nothing but the mistakes I’ve made.
