Donnette Sanz, an 8-month-pregnant woman, that was performing her duties as a traffic enforcement down in the Bronx was struck by a 1986 Dodge. The vehicle was going fast enough that it threw her in from of a school bus. However Bronx’s St. Barnabas Hospital got the call on saving a life and they rushed her in.
Donnette was given an emergency cesarean section and the baby was quickly pulled out. She had a little boy that came into the world at 3lbs 6oz. She died at 4:22p.m. But her child will live on, keeping her memory alive. The man that hit her is in custody.
One life may be gone, but I’m sure she would’ve wanted her child to be saved. At least it wasn’t two lives that day. My heart goes out to her family though, as I’m sure this is a very sad situation.
