9 Months in, 9 Months on the Outside

We reached a milestone this week. My baby is now nine months old. She’s been on the outside just as long as she was on the inside.
I thought I would take a look at what was happening the first month after the birth and compare it to how I am feeling now.
On January 17th, the baby was exactly one month-old and I wrote The Long List of Discomforts.
My very typical post partum problems ranged from acid indigestion to weight gain and had something for each of the letters in between, or so it seemed. Of the many issues, today only stretch marks and varicose veins remain a part of my life.
And exhaustopn. Exhaustion, well, that’s just part of motherhood, isn’t it? I was very worried about myself for the first two weeks after I went back to work. By the end of the second week, I didn’t even have the energy to make dinner. I am pleased to say I seem to have adjusted. I am still very tired by the end of the day, but it is manageable. I think going back to work involved recovering from a schedule change similar to jet lag. One moment your body wants to do everything at the wrong moment, but a few days later, you are back on track. I hope it stays that way.

Happy 9 month birthday! My baby turned 9 months last Friday. Isn’t it amazing how the first 9 months of their life goes so much faster the nine months of pregnancy?
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Well, the constant burping and barfing really slowed down pregnancy time for me, but even so, it is a milestone.
They grow without permission don’t they?
Hugs,
Holly
