A Not so Happy Christmas Story

This story would’ve been posted on Christmas but I thought ya’ll would like some “HAPPY” stories. This one broke my heart when I heard about it. This Utah couple (Clint and Heather Larson) adopted a baby boy six months ago, they sat by him throughout many health issues. See his mother did drugs and they had to slowly take him off it, his adopted parents were in the hospital the entire time. But now after all this time bonding with this little boy he has been ripped out of their arms.

Talon Larson’s birth mother didn’t want him and placed him up for adoption, but it would be her tribe, Ojibwe American Indian Tribe that would end up fighting for him. Why? Not because the adoptive parents were horrible parents but because they weren’t Indian.  The adoptive parents even welcomed the tribe and insisted that they’d happily learn about Talon’s heritage right along with him. But with the Indian Child Welfare Act the Indian tribe was able to take away little Talon and didn’t even negotiate anything else.

Do you think this was right? I totally get teaching a child their heritage, but this went a little too far in my opinion.
