A Tale of Woe

Today is Labour Day in Europe. A time for union demonstrations and family outings. We went to Burg Rheinfels, a castle with sections built between 1245 and 1692. The ruins feature long, steep winding staircases up towers and parapets. Under the castle walls, tunnels have low entry ways that require bending and careful plodding through the semi-darkness.
You may have noticed I haven’t written about my post partum weight loss lately. Today, hiking around the ruins with the family, one thing became very, very clear. I can’t avoid it for one second longer. I am still terribly, terribly out of shape. Time to kick the recovery efforts up a notch. I can’t get breathless climbing a castle tower ever again. I need to keep up with the kids.
