An Honest View of a Parenting Nightmare that Changed

September 20, 2006 by kate baggott

Sometimes, a very honest writer takes on a topic that describes an experience, a moment, or a fear with such detail and love that their work deserves a very large audience. Edward Batha is one of those writers and the moment is his description is the discovery of his daughter’s Down’s Syndrome.

  • We are all used to having a say in the major events in our lives, and being able to opt out if we don’t want it any more. Not here, though. This is a fait accompli, the only choice is to take it or leave it. Half the Down’s children in our hospital are left behind.
