Angelina Jolie Supports Breastfeeding

It seems that while many celebrities are okay with breastfeeding you aren’t catching that many doing it on the cover of any magazines. That is until now, Angelina Jolie is on the cover of the November issue for W Magazine. These pictures are those that her lover, Brad Pitt, took of her and they are all in a loving manner. Not some sick stuff people will try making it out to be.
Actually the W Cover is Angelina Jolie with her knee up blocking most of the picture, you can see a baby’s finger and a bit of her breast exposed. But not much. I’m sure some will be upset that she is no longer sporting a machine gun, but she is still supporting some type of gun, but it squirts milk.
Now I’d like to take a second here to ask ya’ll about breastfeeding. I would like any and all stories, I don’t care if it was the first time your milk came in. You know the soreness it has, or how long it took to come in. Stories of those first moments of you, your baby and your breasts and just watching your infant and getting that locking moment between the two of you. I think that’s one of the most special times I’ve had with my babies, that moment they latch on, no one else is in the room and the two of you talk silently. Or you can talk about the time you were breastfeeding in public and had someone come up to you and make a comment. As you can guess, this post is also a surprise one. (read below)

Bravo for Angelina! I think breastfeeding should be allowed everywhere because — DUH — it is just a basic human function. People shouldn’t get so uptight and prudish about such things….no wonder our kids are messed up!!

Great cover. I breastfed. I even pumped at work (hello, on a military base!). Hard, at times, but worth it. However, it stunk that I couldn’t eat chocolate that whole time (one year). It gave my daughter a diaper rash.

I loved breastfeeding in every way .. the convenience, the intimacy and the certainty that I was enhancing his immune system.
I nurse my son. It was really difficult at first – soooooo painful and then – I get frequent migraines and can’t take anything – nor can I go lay down in a quiet dark room with a baby.

Yes, I have nursed 6 children, for up to 3+ years each. I do believe it is one of the most wonderful experiences that I will mostly recall with fondness. Yes, there were those clogged milk ducts or the time one of my clogged milk ducts unclogged and I thought it was busted because milk started shooting out like a fountain and was soaking a towel! Thanks for helping recall all the memories!

not an Angelina fan, but if at all possible, I do believe moms should try and breastfeed, so good for the baby
I breastfed my son. I remember it was sooo difficult at first but soon both of us got in the groove and i am so glad I stuck with breasteeding.
I think it’s up to the mom and her lifestyle. She should research the benefits and decide but not let anyone push or shame her either way.
